This restaurant in downtown Charleston has a wonderful historic but modern feel. The service was excellent and the prices quite reasonable (by New York standards anyway). The special pork melted in your mouth. If you're going to have dinner in this touristy part of town, this place is one to check o…

Momofuku was my first experience with noodle soup. The restaraunt is small and popular so be prepared to either wait for a seat, or go at off times. Momofuku has a number of locations but all are pretty small. Good music, and a classic inspired menu make this place great.

This restaurant is located near the tomb of Augustus on the east side of the Tiber. Roman dishes are typically known for their inventive uses of less than ideal ingredients. Tripe, which is the stomach lining of a cow or pig, served with sauce is an example. Thankfully, A'gusto breaks with tradi…

We had dinner here on the first night of the Kansas City meet up. This location was in Country Club Plaza.
I was highly impressed with this restaurant.
It was tough to choose from all the great items on the menu but I ended up having the burnt ends plate, which consisted of seared chunks of bee…

Musha is a Japanese "pub" type place that servers tapas style food and a multitude of delicious drinks. The food comes in small plates, and is meant to shared. All of the dishes are unique, well thought-out, and delicious. Some of the dishes you get to cook yourself, and they bring out a tiny, cool …

My mom read about this restaurant in one of her guide books/literature while researching for our trip. While we were in the Czech Republic, we wanted to make sure we could try authentic Czech cuisine. This place nails it.
The restaurant is not far from the Old Town Square, but doesn't have quite …

As David described this place, it's the "In-and-Out" for ribs and meat. No-frills, fast fresh meat. You wait in a line, order some meat, watch it get cut, eat it. Simple, fast, efficient...and delicious! My favorite dish was the half rack of baby back ribs for only $6.50. The meat is so tender it li…

this new restaurant in the warehouse district is quite lovely and homey at the same time. the place is small so i highly recommend making reservations, especially if you go during jazzfest or when there is a big event in the city.

Ruen Pair is a tiny little restaurant in a non-descript strip mall in Thai Town. The interior is functional and casual -- nothing fancy. But the food itself is a great value for its price. Most entrees were under $7-8 and the portions were very generous.
We had the steamed catfish, vegetable curr…

I have not written much about food but it’s worth mentioning that my favorite food is Thai, my best time was when I visited Bangkok in 1999 and ate just about anything as long as it was traditionally prepared. Now don’t get me wrong, the Thai restaurant here in Tucson – Bangkok Café is not as…
