French bistro-brasserie Les Halles, once a New York landmark, had somewhat fallen out of favor, due in large part to the recent surge in popularity of Italian cuisine. However, probably because of head chef Anthony Bourdain's hit show on the the Travel Channel, the restaurant has enjoyed renewed ren…

Very nice all-suite hotel! It’s conveniently located on West Peachtree St. and just a stone’s throw away from major attractions like the Georgia Aquarium and Atlanta Underground. There’s not a lot to do around the immediate area so the hotel was very quiet. It was refreshing not getting woken …

I hate this hotel beyond words. I went here during a huge conference where we took up 1/3 of the hotel. The hotel seems to have a capacity of 6,000. It seems they decided to increase their profit margins by employing the same amount of people although the capacity was 3 to 10 times normal. Staff loo…

A friend of mine who had never been to New York City recently came to visit. We decided on Indian food, because it is a rarity where he comes from. Another staple of the Midtown crowd, Joe's exudes a more casual atmospher…

There's the Gap, H&M for cheap trendy clothes, Victoria's Secret, and Macy's which is well known in NYC iconography-as the setting for the movie Miracle on 34th Street, and as the biggest department store that also happens to hold an annual Thanksg…

Knowing that we weren't going to have much choice once we got back to our neighborhood, we grabbed a quick bite (and drink) nearby to Penn Station. Even though the food in that area is also pretty hit-or-miss, the Heartland Brewery was a very nice place to stop and chill out for an hour or so.

Located in the midtown area, right behind the Empire State Building, Gahm Mi Oak is in "Koreatown" a.k.a. K-Town.
Apparently it's Zagat rated but for an admittedly neophyte to Korean cuisine beyond Korean barbecue (which is very good), I wasn't bowled over by their limited selection nor with the …
