The public transportation is the most awesome and very reliable. You can get anywhere and everywhere in the city.
Primarily you will find the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) and the GO Train/Bus. They all seem to connect to each other. The TTC has buses that run from each subway terminal.

The fact that the hotel is over a train station may deter some people initially, but don't let that happen to you! You will not feel the trains rattling beneath the floor, and the Kyoto train station is a destination in itself in my opinion.
