't Hof van Eden Antwerp Reviews
Affordable and delicious Jun 27, 2010
I booked this brasserie style eatery for the reunion dinner of our Peru travel group, mainly because of its excellent location in the historic centre on the Groenplaats, the big square next to the cathedral square.
Though there are plenty of eateries and terraces on the Groenplaats, this one has a large enough capacity for groups, so it was easy to get a large table all seated together.
We were a bit put off by the majority of elderly aged clientelle on the terrace but our doubts disappeared as soon as we entered. The interior is very contemporary and stylish, and looks friendly and inviting.
Despite the extremely hot summer temperatures outside, the dining area was nice and fresh without being too cold. Excellent climate controle!
The staff was helpful and efficient in a not too formal way and was in for laughs and jokes from our group.
We all ordered the weekend menu and got a little appetizer with our drinks included.
The food was excellent; not too large portions but more than plenty.
All in all we got extremely good value for money. The weekend menu (3 courses and appetizer) sets you back 20.00 euro. On weekdays, one can order a menu already as from 16.50 euro.
