kanafe and halva, musts for any visitor to Nablus Apr 01, 2014
Nablus is famous for its appetizing sweets. Sampling "kanafe", made from a delicate combination of melted cheese, shredded grain, and a sugary honey sauce, is a must for any visitor to Nablus.

It was easy to forget of the sad living condition of the children at Balata Refugee Camp when we start to walk through colorful stalls of fruits, vegetables, spices, seeds, nuts, hard and soft goat cheese, yogurt balls, fresh- made pita breads, pickled vegetables and all kinds of baklava.

We also visited a factory for "halva" another famous desserts for the Arab people. Halva is basically a mixture of roasted sesame seeds and dried oregano.

Not a good time to go on a diet if you're visiting Nablus.
