Sopot is a seaside town in Eastern Pomerania on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea in northern Poland, with a population of approximately 40,000.
Sopot is a powiat capital in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Until 1999 it formed a part of the Gdańsk Voivodeship. Along with Gdańsk and Gdynia, Sopot is part of the trojmiasto (Tricity) metropolitan agglomeration. Sopot is a large health-spa and tourist resort destination, well known for the longest wooden pier in Europe, the Molo (at 515.5 meters), from which one can see the Gulf of Gdańsk. The city is also famous for its Sopot International Song Festival, the largest such event in Europe after the Eurovision Song Contest.

We couldn't leave the coast area without seeing the sea so we went again to Sopot to see sea :)And we did. Now it's time to start driving because we have a long way ahead :)

Sopot is a great place to spend a little time wandering around. There are plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops to browse through, plus a nice beach and pretty surroundings to walk through. We were lucky to coincide with a sort of street fair and there were lots of acts including the stilt walkers that I have included a picture of.
April wasn't the best time of the year for a day in Sopot, but we were lucky - it was cold but sunny - there were even people playing volleyba...
