My American friend Eric has been already a couple of times in Bratislav, but this time he wanted to see more of the country. We rent a car then and travelled around for 3 days showing Eric the less famous sights of Europe.

Slovakia's main attributes for interested travelers are mountains, countryside, castles and other historical architecture. The highest mountains of the country are in the northern part on the border to Poland - the High Tatra. Skiing in winter, hiking in the summer, a great place for nature enthutiastic people.

Egypt is a treasury of ancient "relicts".The 2 weeks I spent here with my friend Pavel were full of several things: unforgottable experiences, "hassle" by the merchandisers, beautifull sceneries, heat, sun and dust, nice and even annoying people. What it wasn't? Definitely not boring.

Helsinki, Finland -› Suomenlinna, Finland -› ...
Finnland has been for the last years the only Scandinavian country I haven't visited. Unlike the other countries of northern Europe, Finnish don't have germanistic roots and their language is very particular. I was really curious about this country famous for Nokia, Icehockey, sauna, lakes and forests. 4 days in Helsinki weren't fairly much, but at least the first step to discover how the country is like.

During my backpacking around Central America in 2001 I met a Colombian girl named Ana. We kept the contact through the years and when her sister joined her husband to London where his company sent him, Ana got finally the possibility to come to Europe. She invited me to visit them and I spent then some great 4 days in England surrounded by great Colombian people.

Tokyo, Japan -› Tsukuba, Japan -› ...
This was actually my 3rd trip to Japan and I did it because of my japanese girlfriend I had that time. This country is in many ways so different to what Westerners are used to, so mysteriours, that usually visitors either love it or hate it. There's not much in between. I learned to appreciate Japan already during my first trip and I knew I had to come back. China was something completely different. More chaotic, more dirty and more unpredictable. Like the big clumsy brother of Japan.

Austria is the western neigbour of my homeland Slovakia, a small German speaking country with very specific dialects which complains a lot of being confused with Australia. A country that has lots to offer for travellers.

If you are travelling from Austria to Switzerland you might hit a lilliput country...Liechtenstein. One of the smallest independent countries in the world is not much more then a dot on the European map. A dot which offers a beautifull mountain scenery and seems to be by the first look just another canton of Switzerland. But it's not, even if these two countries have a lot in common.
As for me it was a place worth to discover by itself.
