Random comments about meeting a great travelbuddy who visited a random city in a random country somewhere behind Austria where even the mosquitos get a random attitude.

I've met Jeff already during the pre-meetup in Antwerp in May, he was one of the travelbuddies I had the most connection with. When he wrote me that he's coming to Bratislava I knew we would have loads of fun together. And he was coming the best weekend...the weekend I was celebrating my birthday.

Two crazy Austrian girls me and Dan met during our trip in Bucharest invited us to spend the weekend in Vienna. We didn't get much sleep, but loads of fun. And it was the weekend of the finals of the European Cup.

This is something like a relaunch of my previous pictures I modified a bit. It's just something to laugh about, it's not meant seriously.

Just 2 weeks after the travbuddy meetup in Bratislava it looked like it wouldn't stay the only one. Travbuddy Narrie from Australia was touring around Europe with her boyfriend Wilco and somehow got even to my little big (and sometimes forgotten) city as well.

A travbuddy meetup in Bratislava? Maybe a mini-meetup, I would have never expected anything bigger then that. But it happened, call it kharma, destiny or just a coincindence. Five different travbuddies were coming to Bratislava the same time. Incredible. Not organizing a travbuddy meetup would be like commiting a sin...or just a huge waste of positive energy. Take it as you want, the meetup took place and it was great.

This is not supposed to be a common travelling report, more a summary of my own impressions of the country of the rising sun collected during my 3 trips to Japan. Something like putting little pieces together to get my own mozaic of its customms, its traditions, its people and their mentality. I‘ve dreamed to visit this fascinating country in Eastern Asia already as a teenager. I was 21 years old when I suddenly reached my goal.

A meet-up in Antwerp the day of my flight from Dusseldorf to Vienna, I thought there was no chance to join this one. Until Sylvie convinced me that there will be already enough travbuddies in Antwerp the day before. I came and I'm glad I did it, even if I missed the official part on Saturday.

I was coming to Germany to meet my sister and my old highschool mates in Düsseldorf. I missed the official Düsseldorf travbuddy meetup in April organised by Lauro, but I hoped to meet at least some travbuddies on my own. My wish was fulfilled and I had the opportunity to get to know personally 3 really nice and great people.

I was supposed to go for 1 day business trip with my boss to Switzerland. The meetings ran well and I had about 1 1/2 hours left (thanks to a train delay of the Swiss railways)to do some quick sightseeing in Zürich. I've been to Bern and Geneva in the past already, but never to this part of this Alpian country. And my impression ? Zürich is a really nice city with a pleasant atmoshepere.
