Ok so everybody loves to shop when there travelling around, get a few fridge magnets for your family, but that cheap tshirt, or new pair of converse, but what you should know about shopping in San jose is, that they the shop assistants watch you like a bloody hawk, they for some reason which we personally do not know, think that we as (foriegners) are very likely to steal. So i am only warning you for being followed around, with men with guns, and sour faced teenage girls on there lunch breaks. It can be very annoying, esp if your a savy traveller who doesnt carry a bag. But if you do carry a bag, you are very likely to be told to place it in a locker, even if its the supermarket.
We got totally fed up with being followed in clothes shops that we thought sod that, and decided against shopping, and brought our things more outside San Jose, where the ppl seemed more relaxed. Tho if your after that pair of bright yellow converse and must have it no matter what, then be warned the moment you pick up the shoes, you will have two assistants on your arse, asking you to ¨buy now¨ its weird, its like you cant actually walk around with stuff in your hands. But like i said, anywhere else in Costa rica is fine, its only the city that there is a weird obsession with theft |

In the evening we went out in San Pedro again. Despite today being a Saturday it wasn't as much fun as last week. Guess week nights are better for going out in student areas. … Day 74: San José |

We had coffee, snacks, coffee, beers, snacks, lunch…
We had some rest in a launch area, we shopped, didn’t buy anything, because you have to take it with you the whole trip. Finally we had to go to the gate. But after the gate we had to wait another hour. The plain left at 22:30 to Orlando . … Getting to San José |

Vendors greeting visitors with a warm smile as you walk through their shops, then you hear them giggle and you realized that you have walked by that vendor at least three times before. It is easy to get lost inside mercado central... all halls look the same and all vendors seem to sell the same product. But then… I saw Jesus in the market! |
