Koh Samed or Samed Island (some said Samet but the correct one is with the "d" not the "t") is a small island in Eastern Thailand and it's also a national park so you have to pay the ticket when you land.It's located in Rayong Province. Only 3 hours from Bangkok by bus. The good season to go there is around summer. There are many beautiful beaches from east to west of the island. You can take a bus at Eastern Bus Terminal or take a van at Victoria Monument then catch the boat at Noun Tip pier and take a cab to the beach you want. Don't worry that they will cheat you with the price because the rate is fix for everyone. (Sometimes they have a boat direct to your beaches). You'll see a lot of Thai people there as it's not far from Bangkok and it's quiet more than the other nearest beaches as Pattaya.
