saloon universal, the greatest local bar in spain!

the best local bars in the world are not to be found in the big cities of a country. take note, for example - saloon universal.

in the little town of cedeira in northen spain, where the population is only 8000 people - this little town is populated with so many bars specially in the avenida where it is direct at beach (playa magdalena)!!! not just bars but alternative bars with rock, punk and ska music! but my favorite is saloon universal!

my friend pablo the idiot took me and my friends to this bar located near the dumps (hahahaha) and ole! the facade is like an old hollywood tavern - really looks tacky from the outside but dont let that fool you!

inside - there are computers for internet, lots of billiard tables, a dart board, a kickerboard and a harley davidson in the corner!

the beers and alcohol drinks are the cheapest prices i paid in spain! it doenst get over than 2 euros! plus the bar serves - sandwiches, hamburgers and bocadillos.

but it isnt the games, the beers and food that what makes this place great - its the people!

i was introduced to the owner of the bar - suso, and then to other men who lives in cedeira. good thing i speak broken spanish and can communicate with the people well because, i really like it here, because its a no-nonsense bar! you dont have to wear fancy clothes - because people and friends who come here are what they are - alternatives! the men of cedeira who are pablos friends - even paid our beers, our billiard games and all - true spanish hospitality. beers and ganjas are flowing in the night with rock, reggae, punk and ska music in the background. the saloon also held music nights for local spanish alternative bands here to show off local talents.

the little town of cedeira is so remote inside spain, but it is a paradise, not only for its beautiful nature and beaches but also it's long line of bars like saloon universal - where inside - the true spanish saying - la vida loca lives!

i would recommend saloon universal to any people going and have time to roam around spain.
