On our drive from Hopewell to the Confederation Bridge which connects to PEI was eventful. The drive was great, no problems until we hit a huge patch of manure that had fallen out of a dump truck. It was all over the road I tell ya. Had to swerve and go on the gravel to get around it. We did run over a huge dumping with the car and we surely paid for that later.

We arrived at the confederation bridge and as we stepped out from the car, it stunk like crap. It was all over the car..LOL!! Eww!

We stopped over to the side before going over. Got some great shots and I absolutely loved the red rocks and sand! After a few pictures, jumped back in the car and crossed the 12.9km bridge into PEI. As soon as we crossed the bridge we made a left and took a highway that took us right up to North Cape, the tip of PEI. Pretty awesome I would say! We arrived up there in no time, can't believe how small PEI really is. It looked like on the map that it would take forever to get there. We arrived in Tignish and there was absolutely nothing there..LOL Pretty much all the small places having nothing in town, or it's not even a town. We headed down to Alberton because i remembered seeing a sign of "food". We ended up at this little dinner place and had fish n' chips! Once we departed there, we headed down to Summerside.

Summerside was actually active. Ended up staying in the Island B&B. The town was a ghost town but it seems like out in the east coast, everyone seems to go out to the bars around midnight. We also found out that Mark Messier and the Stanley Cup were in Summerside because of a resident winning a contest. How cool is that! We ended up at Dooley's for a couple of drinks before heading back to the B&B to crash for the night!

Yes slowly our PEI adventure was coming to an end. We spent some more time in Charlottetown, catching up on emails, having a look at the shops - the official Anne of Green Gables Store, and Anne of Green Gables Chocolates. They really do know how to capitalise on a good thing, everything is named after Anne - Shining Waters Amusement Park, Kindred Spirits Cottages, there's even an entire brand of AofGG raspberry cordial named after the chapter where Anne & Diana (don't) drink raspberry cordial.

We drove out along the east coast, with very pretty scenery along the way, and stayed at a couple of really nice Provincial Parks - they're the best places to camp, government owned/operated and therefore without all the horrid add-ons like pools & golf & amusements and hundreds of scary RVs. They were usually right on the water, and since the tourist season is basically over, there were often only one or two other people staying there.

We didn't really do much at all except drive around, hang out on the beach, and go out for a traditional lobster supper (well Maria had that & I just went for plain old fish 'n' chips, since seafood's not really my thing).

And that was the end of our PEI adventures.
