Visited a traditional market at a small town about 2 hours from Quito. It was full of livestock (pigs, cows, llamas) and brightly coloured crafts+clothes and all sorts of fresh food. It was a great place to go for your weekly shop, so much more alive and interesting than going to Tesco!

On the way back we stopped at a restaurant and tucked into the local delicacy - guinea pig. It is great fun to play with, though pretty hard to find meat on. The one I had came without head or testicles but others weren´t so lucky (see photo)!
