The start of the best summer I've ever had. For seven weeks I worked at a summer camp in a small town called Woodgate in New York. Such a beautiful place and I can't wait to go back. I was a lifeguard at the camp and also a general counselor. The first week was a week of training before the first lot of kids arrived. The next three weeks were for male campers and I was placed in a cabin of sixteen year olds. The final three weeks were for the female campers and my cabin was the 13 year olds. Although it was a lot of hard work I had an amazing time and the best experience I could have wished for. It was not only the place but all of the people I met there that made my summer.

We had one day off every week and we had the choice of either going to the nearest large (ish) town called Utica or an extremely small village called Old Forge. I loved Old Forge especially the local pub/ restaurant there called Slickers, they made the best cheesecake....
