Cambridge is just across the Charles River from Boston.
It's like 5 minutes walk crossing the river. the first time I went to Cambridge, I took The T, where I wasted 2 bucks when I could just walk:( If you are staying in the HI hostel (the year-round HI), MIT is just a stone's throw away. I had a nice short walk to MIT and back to hostel before the 7am (free hehe) hostel breakfast.

Don't we all love to buy other people's college tees?

I dont know whether it is OK for me to suggest this or not:P

If you want to buy a Harvard tee as a souvenir or for whatever reason, instead of buying it at the official store, get one at a stall at the Harvard station. One costs around 5-15 bucks. I think mine was 8 bucks? I dont remember it. yeah anyway, it is way much cheaper:P I also noticed one or two stalls like it in Boston;P

1369 is a Cambridge institution--much like the rest of the city. But
really, the coffee here is much better than the ubiquitous Starbucks,
plus there is a much better selection of tea. You can usually catch
people chilling out there for an hour or two reading or using the free
wireless connection. The food is ok, but sparse, unless you're just in
the mood for a cookie or muffin. Coffee, if ordered in-house comes in a
ceramic mug and has reduced refills. My favorite part of the restaurant
is the non-corporate soundtrack and the excellent people-watching
opportunities. That and the coffee isn't burnt...I mean....dark-roasted.

The Border Cafe in Harvard Sq. is the best Tex/Mex in Boston. Friday and Saturday nights getting a table means having to wait usually over an hour. But the food is excellent as are the portions. My friend who often goes weekly, swears by the fajitas, though I like to try different things each time I go. The chips are made fresh in the restaurant and are often still drying when the arrive at the table. All in all, Tex/Mex in Boston doesn't come any better.

maybe a trip to the beach. Please keep reading, my summer

We walked around Cambridge for a bit. We went to a great tea shop named Tealuxe, and did a bit of shopping. Cambridge is a great area for people-watching. I love sitting around and watching pretentious preppy kids prance around.

Tealuxe is a really cute tea shop in Cambridge. Located next to the Urban Outfitters in Harvard Square, they have dozens of varieties of tea to choose from. What's even cooler is they price them based off of rarity. Of course, they could be robbing m.e blind by claiming stuff is rarer than it actually is, but it's a quaint touch. They also sell some pretty mean tea sets in there. $2 for a medium Oolong might be a bit pricey, but it really hits the spot on a chilly Autumn day.
