A few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea and the golf club we played at, there was a very nice looking village. We had alredy identified it on the way out " it was the city Pals which apparently was wellknown for its medieval streets.

The county of Baix Empordà in the province of Girona has in this town a lovely old quarter, declared a Historic Artistic Site. Walking this streets was truly a pleasure ��" especially since we were out of seson and there was nobody there. It was clearly a touristic city, there were a lot of bars ��" almost all closed, and the houseprices were skyhigh.

In the Gothic quarter of city, almost a streets were pretty cobbled streets and flanked by aristocratic houses with nice pricetags. We walked the streets and went to the top of the village where a nice old church greeted us with open doors. We really enjoyed the afternoon sun here sitting on the stairs in front of the church. After I had done my countless pictures we when down to the local market to get the last cold beer in the afternoon sun.

Very close to the city you can find Pals beach. The beach completes the visit to the walled town and at any of these points, you can try the area's cuisine, based on products from both the sea and of the mountains. But take care we were surpriced of the price of the delicious fish. We paid at our restaurant close to 60€ each for our main course at the restarant we found. It was truly fantastic but so close the water you shouldn’t have to pay for emptying the whole sea!

After getting back to the hotel which was situated only 20 km from the golf we had had so much fresh air that it was time for a nap, well not for all of us - well actually only for one guy. The rest of us just went for a quick shower and met up in the bar where we solved at lot of our missed strokes during the day.
