Llegada a Catania y regreso a Málaga.

Al llegar al aeropuerto de Catania, recogimos la furgoneta para recorrer la isla durante 9 días. De ahí, al centro de la ciudad para ver la plaza del Duomo, el mercado, las iglesias y calles. Más tarde, a comer en Acireale y seguir hasta Taormina para hacer noche allí.

Catania is a rough city in Sicily and the Liberty Hotel is in a bad area of the city. I tried to stay there but was carjacked right outside the Liberty Hotel!!! A man blocked the road while his team of thieves opened my car doors and stole our bags. Because of this incident, I drove off and didn't stay at the hotel that night. My girlfriend was terrified. When I told the hotel about this incident, they would not refund my money for that night. The manager said it was not his fault that I was robbed and that I should have stopped at the hotel to "discuss what happened" even though the hotel was a few feet from where I was robbed!!! That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. Pathetic how bad their customer service is. Please do not stay at the Liberty Hotel. I don't like supporting people that profit on other's misfortunes. Also, be very careful in that area. We spoke to someone who grew up in that area and recommended not traversing in that area if you are a tourist. Stay away from the Liberty Hotel!!! I consider them to be thieves just like the men who robbed me for their actions.

Catania is the largest city on the island of Sicily and is located on the Eastern part of the island.  Photos are of some churches, catacombs, a castle and other things around the city.  I thought the hurst was unusual as here in America we do not have the large windows to view the person.  Lastly there are two photos one of the city taken from my apartment balcony and the next one is the same shot without a zoom (you can see the railing of my balcony) if you look to the upper left of that photo that is Catania.

Forget Catania. We only drove to the airport, gave back our car car and flew back home, early afternoon.

We fetched our car (Lancia Ypsilon, really cute!) and drove to Taormina
