Han and I figured we'd need a wholesome break between the Stones' concert and Carnival, so we headed to Saquarema - a little beach town about 100km east of Rio. This place was definately relaxed... appears to be where Rio locals go for weekends at their beach houses. Great surf beach where we spent most of our time with a group of Ozzies, Poms and Dutchies.

Had a pretty wholesome time - up at the crack of dawn each day fr a run/swim and back in time for a cracker breakfast at the Posada.

We headed to Buzios for a day trip on the 22nd. Although it was only about 60km away, the bus trip ended up taking about 3 hours each way on a crappy urban bus crammed with people... I don't recommend it! Buzios was fairly impressive... it's where the rich and famous holiday and definately a posh destination.
