Not your everyday Japanese restaurant along I-95. It's got hibachi grills as the centerpiece of the place and sushi is also served with a good variety and fresh taste. Service is fast and efficient, the hibachi chefs are fun and amusing if you want to entertain kids or groups. If you order drinks from the bar be specific about what you want or ask a manager for advice if you happen to like something obscure. They are all friendly and helpful. I recommend this restaurant because it is hard to have good Japanese outside of anywhere in NYC and Koto is a gem in Groton. </p>

I am so glad I have discovered the take-out at this diner. By the end of the week who feels like going home to cook? Oh Boy Diner has become a regular stop for me after work on Fridays. The take out menu reflects the dine in menu; I can get dinners, burgers, shakes, salads etc. The food is always delicious, the portions are generous and the service is quick and friendly. Just call ahead to order your food and someone will bring it out to your car. How great is that when you're tired and just want to get home? At the moment my favorite is to order macaroni and cheese (delicious!!!) for everyone with one dinner size salad for everyone to share. I also recommend the turkey dinner, pot roast dinner and fish and chips. Affordable, delicious take out food brought right to my car - what could be better? If you are tired and don't feel like cooking give it a try, you won't be disappointed. </p>

I loved this place! The decor is beautiful and upbeat. Had a small wait and was not ignored, but was told it would be 5 minutes and even took less than that. Lots of happy people leaving which is always a good sign. Great menu! So many creative choices. And was not disappointed. There were 3 of us and we all loved out food. The server was friendly and very informative without being pushy. Food came out quickly and hot. Very clean and shiny, just the way all restaurants should be. Can't wait to go back!

its a diner, order breakfast or a burger, I recommend the tripledecker cheeseburger. Good for what you pay and the servers are always friendly. Do not order swordfish at any diner. What is next, sushi at a truckstop? Order something basic you will most likely be very pleased, Seriously though, i've never gotten anything but a burger or breakfast and i've never had a single problem. </p>

<p>
We live locally, and were interested in trying either of the new 24-hour restaurants in Groton, this one or the Oh-Boy Diner. I believe we made the wrong choice.

We arrived around 9 PM on a Sunday night. My husband and I both ordered breakfast plates, and my son ordered the swordfish "special" for $15.95. The eggs were fine, the toast was fine, my husband's sausage was fine, but the red potato home fries were filled with grit, as if the potatoes were not washed before they were prepared.

Our real problem was with my son's swordfish. It was a huge portion, but the texture was mushy, indicating it wasn't fresh or stored properly. He took two bites and that was it. When we told the waitress about it, her response was "oh, you didn't like it?" As we paid, we told the hostess the same story, and she insisted they get their seafood every day. There was never an offer to "make it right." No one was interested in hearing about the gritty home fries either.

The restaurant was beautifully remodeled from a former Golden Corral, but we won't be back.</p>

THis is probably one of the worst diners I have ever been to! The first time we went there, we waited about 20 minustes, which was ok because they were busy (becuase it had just opened), it took the waitress like 7-10 mins to get to the table, takes our order, came back like 15 mins later and says "I lost my pad, can I have your order again?" HELLO? Why wouldnt you put the order right into the computer? Then it took about 1 1/2 hours(not an exaggeration)to get our food...it was a little over priced for not good food! I will NEVER go there again!! They are terrible!</p>

<p>
It was the first snow since november 2007. we wanted to go somewhere close to our hotel, it was 15 degrees and windy. also we had to wake up at 4am to catch a plane. we did not want to drive far.

this was the closest restaurant. the few good things about it are it's 24hrs, good service and large portions.

i ordered the chicken cacciatore. IT WAS SUB PAR. HOWEVER, IT WAS A HUGE PORTION. I COULD NOT FINISH IT. I ONLY ATE THE CHICKEN BREAST. THE GREEN PEPPERS OVERPOWERED THE DISH.

my bf ordered his fave veal parmigiana. HE LIKED IT VERY MUCH. I DID NOT LIKE IT. THE SAUCE WAS TOO TANGY. IT NEEDED MORE CHEESE. IT WAS ALSO 2 LARGE PIECES OF VEAL.

if you are in the neighborhood, drive pass this place. the quality of food is less than denny's. there are other 24hrs places to eat. SEE "OH BOY DINER" REVIEW.

it was our last day in CONNETICUT, too bad this is our last meal to remember :(</p>

I always eat here every time i return my rental car at the airport. during the summer it is a cool place to hang out to watch the planes and helicopters land.

i first time i ate here i ordered chicken parmesan. the second time i ordered a cheese pizza. the third time i ordered a meat lasagna. ALL HAS BEEN DELICIOUS, FRESH, AND EVEN AMOUNTS OF FLAVOR.

my last time a 16in. meatball sandwich. WOW THIS IS HUGE. I ONLY ATE 1/3 OF IT. THE MEATBALLS WERE MADE FRESH. THE BREAD WAS TOASTED. HOWEVER, NOT ENOUGH CHEESE. NOT BAD FOR $10.

i sat near the window to watch the planes and helicopters land. there was a bar in the middle. i was the only one in the restaurant. i had awesome service. prices are not bad, under $15. if you like LARGE PORTIONS, you will like this place :)</p>

We have been here many times it is down the street from my bf's house. we love watching sports and having a beer and eating wings. this time we had dinner here without watching sports.

my bf wanted a bowl of clam chowder. HE SAID I WAS OK. THEN AGAIN HE LIVED IN MAINE FOR 5 YEARS. HE IS PICKY ABOUT CLAM CHOWDER.

i ordered the grilled chicken with sauteed veggies. THE CHICKEN WAS DRY AND THE VEGGIES WAS SOGGY.

the waitress was very sweet and nice. she gave me a menu to order another dish. she was also prompt to refill my bf's diet coke.

i ordered the meatloaf with mash potatoes and corn. IT WAS TASTY BUT TOO MUCH BBQ SAUCE. I SHOULD HAVE IT ON THE SIDE.

well, i did not expect much. we were to lazy to drive to our normal quick meal SPOT....LOL we'll just come back for the wings and watching sports.

The location is extremely convenient located directly off of interstate 95.

as soon as you enter the restaurant, the bar is right in front. the interior is black and cream. the furniture is black. the walls are white. it is has an intimate setting. light lighting with votive candles on each table.

what bothers me was the christmas music in the background. they should have instrumental music or none.

our waiteress was pleasant and helpful. the bread they served was soft and buttery. it was served with an oil and shaved parmigiana.

my bf and i shared a Crab Rangoon Spring Rolls over Grilled Pineapple w/ Fiery Mango Sauce.

i ordered the Grilled Pork Tenderloin w/Apple Balsamic Sauce over Blue Cheese Bacon, but with NO BACON. this was very good. i loved the flavor of the blue cheese with the pork.

my bf ordered the Veal Francaise with Spinach, Roasted Tomatoes & White Wine Lemon Garlic Sauce. he said the lemon over powered the garlic.

for dessert, i ordered the chocolate molten lava cake with vanilla cake and my by ordered, a chocolate cheesecake with caramel sauce.

overall, i would like to go back and try their Grilled Portabella Mushroom w/Scallops & Gorgonzola Cheese and Open Face Ravioli w/Lobster, Shrimp, Scallops, & Lobster Chive Sauce.

this is newly built diner in groton. the diner is a blast from the past, like it was in the 50s.

i ordered a "built your own" omelette. the one i ordered is already premixed. i am allegic to tomatoes. then i realized the "built your own" omelette is more expensive if you want 6 toppings. if you ordered "feed store" omelette it has chicken, tomato, onion, mushroom, peppers, jack cheese and gouda cheese. it is the same price if you ordered 3 toppings.

i built a spinach, chicken and jack cheese omelette with home fries(cubed fried potatoes) and pumpernickel bread. i was shocked when they had pumpernickel bread. only jewish delis in NYC that i know that serves pumpernickel. my omelette was fresh. the chicken was tender and moist, the spinach was cut fresh like it was picked from the ground. the cheese was a prefect amount, not overpowering.

my bf ordered a reuben sandwich with sweet potato fries. which by the way is awesome. crispy on the outside. mushy in the inside. perfect fries.

i would like to go back to try their pancakes and challah french toast. </p>

Let me start off that Groton, CT. is not a gourmet, foo foo, trendy type city, it is a navy town. koto is average.

however, koto had the best white tuna sushi. i was shocked they had it. we ordered the "love boat" it had assorted sushi, sashimi, and cut rolls. it was a total of 30 pieces. when the server brought our "love boat", it was presented with dry ice in a lemon. it was cool looking. all was fresh and well presented. my favorite was the white tuna.

next time i would like to try the hibachi table. i wanted to sit down and relax. i felt like having sushi. i would like to try there house rolls next time.

the atmosphere was relaxing. we went on a week day it was quiet. it was not stuffy.
