This is Steve Irwin's zoo. It is a pretty big zoo with a lot of shows that are put on. The ones we caught were the bird, tiger, snakes and the crocidile shows. I wasn't that impressed by the bird or snakes show but I did like the tiger and crocidile shows. I guess it just comes down to what animals you like more than others. They have a lot of animals to see and it gives you a closer feel at times than other zoos that I have been to. The best part in my opinion that gives you an up close feel is the kangaroos and wallabies area. Here you can walk inside and actually up to them to pet them. I thought this was really neat and a good experience. I had a really good time here and recommend it to people.

Before heading back home we made our way out to see the Australia Zoo. This is/was Steve Irwin's zoo. I was glad to see this, upon entering you are informed that they could be filming and that you could be on the show. I was hoping that they would be filming this day but alas they weren't. Regardless we were able to see a lot of animals. We started off by watching a show. The first part of the show was about parrots and other birds. Me personally didn't really care for them but kids would be entertained. Next up was the tigers. This was cool to watch. They had them doing tricks and such very neat. Then came the snakes, again part of the show that I really didn't get a kick out of but others will. Finally it ended with the crocidiles. This was neat to see. Afterwards we headed over to where the kangaroos and wallabees were. A wallabee is a smaller version than a kangaroo. Here you were able to go in the enclosure and get up close and personal with them which was really neat. Of course there were some jerks that were harassing the animals but most people were respectful of them. The grounds were very nice and it is a real tribute to the animals. I am so glad I was able to see this before heading back home.
