Had a great day starting out with a 12 mi. downhill on a curvy road doing 22-37 mph.  Anything over 25-27 is unstable with the trailer tho'.  Later I enjoyed a good tailwind and made pretty good time on down to the desert floor.  Saw one snake and strawberry blond woolybear catepillars.  The Lizards are bigger in this desert and the jackrabbits have taller ears.  There is a whole culture of desert squatters (Octillo Wells), ramming around on dunebuggies and quads.  I feel good but its getting hotter at 105 and difficult to find shade.  Can't seem to carry enough water.  I found places to buy twice but had to beg once.  Don't want to camp in this heat so riding into the night.  There's a full moon.  Finally arrived at Westmoreland, Ca.  68.5 mi.!
