It became apparent that going to Yellowstone was not in our budget so we decided to head west again. We got on I-80 and headed toward Salt Lake City, UT. The desert in western Wyoming was awsome...I can't really do it justice by describing it, so here are some pictures.

<<look at pictures>>

...later...

We pulled off the road at Devil's Gate to check out the view. There was a little circular path with plaques explaining the Mormon handcart pioneers. I guess they had it pretty bad...most of them died of cholora. The view from the path was pretty cool. There were a lot of large flys and locusts that were attracted to us. After going to that rattlesnake display the other day, everytime we herd a buzz from one of the bugs we thought that there was a snake around.

It seems like the closer you got to Salt Lake City, the more you read about Mormons, even at roadside rock formations.
