So the sunday before was the big Green Bay game (well, the next to the last big Green Bay game). I remember walking through the grocery store and saw a beautiful photo on the front of Sports Illustrated. It was of Brett Favre with a football tightly in his hand and huge snow flakes falling infront of him. It made me wonder... does it always snow in Wisconsin? Because as I drive it wasn't snowing, per say. But it was whisping around the road like white tumble weeds over a thick blanket of freshly fallen snow. It was very, very beautiful.

I got off of I-94 and got onto I-90 to head towards Illinois. Along the way I kept seeing signs for the Cheese and Wine Chalet... oh, this is perfect I thought. I had to get a bottle of wine for my friend Jon for his birthday/christmas gift. See I thought it would be a fun gift to get him a bottle of wine from all the states I went through on this trip... well, all but Illinios because I couldn't find a winery on the internet that was off of I-80/I-90 through there and in Florida because, well, I was only taking a small carry-on bag and not checking any luggage so therefore I couldn't take any liquids on the plane.

But I stopped off there to refuel before hitting Chicago, eat and get the wine. I picked up a nice Sweet Cherry Wine for Jon and grabbed a honey ham sandwich with provolone cheese at the deli in the back. And let me just tell you this was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had... the provolone cheese was absolutely delicious!

The Cheese and Wine Chalet is a small cozy store/restaurant on the side of I-90. I went in to buy a bottle of wine and was immediately greated by a nice young man who asked me how I was and if I wanted to try a sample of wine today with a smile on his face.

The store front had a ton of wines that were made in Wisconsin wineries (the one I got for my friend was a Sweet Cherry wine from th eDoor Peninsula Winery, which is made with cherries instead of grapes)...going back there are a lot of types of meats and cheeses to buy and a deli in the back where you can get a nice home made sandwich. I got a honey ham sandwich with provolone cheese on wheat bread.

I took one bite into the sandwich and my taste buds melted and sand out loud. This was probably sandwich I have ever tasted. The cheese had this kick that I never tasted in cheese before!
