A long long time ago in a land far far away in a country across the sea's my Great Great Grandparents and Great Grandparents came from two Cities in Scottland. Glasgow, and Edinbourough. They Then migrated to new york, and then to Michigan where My Grandfather was born, then father, Who came to The great city of seattle and produced me with the help of my mother. There Comes the Scottish background That I treasure. I thought that taking my family to Enumclaw,Wa for the Scottish Festival would be a great way to learn a little bit of history. We strolled through gift booths, watched a pirate/midevil sword fight. Watched the pipers and drummers, practice and play for judges. Walked through the Clan booths, Viewed the animal barns, watched Scottish terriors find rats in a cage of course, and Ate alot of food. both american and scottish pies. Just wasn't brave enough to try the haggis. Only people who have a strong stomach, and know what there in for and don't get groused out easily should eat this. I really wanted to try the ale's, but having a minor with us we had to skip that one. Maybe next year. The dancer's were great, and and the opening ceremonies' were well worth the wait. The bag pipes always bring a smile to my heart, and have a sad yearning at times. anyway it was a day well spent. Now to go to Scottland and visit, some realitives. I have to really want to fly to do that.
