We sadly must say goodbye to our old home.  This is the first time my wife and I have really felt sad leaving a Duty Station.  We were disappointed when we left Europe, no doubt, but this place had something different.  The rain could be maddening, sure, but we had made good friends, we had done so much, and both our children had been born here.

We're on our way, though... down and across the scenic highways of the Grand US!

Flying today; St. Louis to San Francisco, CA -- a v-e-r-y l-o-n-g flight!  Yuck, no peanuts or pretzels, just a Coke to make the 4 hours pass by slowly!  Then a race through the SanFrancisco airport, out of one security zone and waiting in line to go into another security zone, to just barely make the flight to Seattle, WA!  Seattle has a nice airport, with quick baggage handling, a Chevy Impala waiting for us at Hertz, and dinner at Lowell's in Pike Place Public Market over-looking Puget Sound!  Really good clam chowder!  We drove over to Bremerton,WA to spend the night at a nice, new Hampton Inn right next to Bremerton Naval Shipyard.  Sweet dreams!
