The Lime Lounge is one of three bars at the Trump International Resort. The other two, one the beach and the other next to Neomi's Restaurant, are predictable and unworthy. However, the Lime Lounge is a breath of fresh air for late night drinks and music. The drinks are decent, the bar tenders attractive and friendly, and they have a nice selection of single malts and ports. But the draw is the nice crowd and the excellent music. Of course, you'll want to go on Thursday though Saturday nights for the best action. You'll find nightly entertainment changes from guitar jazz instrumentalists, to smooth jazz bands, and a hot Brazilian combo. After a drink or two you might start to think you're listening to the Girl From Ipanema! The Lime Lounge is the one of the few good late night spots in the northern Miami Beach area.

Neomi's is the signature restaurant of the Trump International Resort. It's supposedly a Mobil Award winner, but I can't imagine which award unless Mobil has one for boring, bland and forgettable. The food is typical nouveau fare, but there is nothing special or particularly tasty. In the midst of a hugely busy resort it's no wonder that this place never has more than a few occupied tables (even though they always ask "do you have a reservation?"). Moral of the story - if you're staying at this resort, get off the property and go elsewhere (try Aquapazza across the street - its amazing and much less expensive).

I stumbled into this place alone one night on business while looking for a decent bite. From the outside Aquapazza looks like a standard trattoria. Inside the staff is very friendly, and the food is amazingly good - really. The carpaccio was to die for, and the salt encrusted baked sea bass was incredibly moist and tender. It was so good I returned the next night with a party of 5 and it didn't disappoint. I recommend any of the seafood or pasta dishes. The chef owner takes a great interest in all diners, and the wine list is worthy of a quality eatery. Aquapazza seems to me the best restaurant in the whole Sunny Isles and north Miami Beach area. Pass on the crab houses (touristy rip offs) and go for Aquapazza!

This Trump is a standard high rise hotel (use the term resort loosely)in the midst of the northern Miami Beach towers. Part of a three mega building complex, it's a good choice if you want to be pampered on the beach far away from the noise and nonsense of South Beach. It's also a good choice for nice food, decent drinks, a beautiful beach, and nearby deep sea fishing charters. Realize that at least half the place is residential condos, and you need to bring your own nightlife. Nonetheless, its a reasonable call if the weather is seasonable.
