So there it is. Another year past and u actually dont know what happend. U got no grey hair, what is good with 25. U dont remember big events (anymore), or something else what happend in this year. So what to celebrate. Oh yes, i forgot my ego. Haha. It's only happy when i got people around me cause they like me. Thats not so hard, but the birthdays are the best to invite people u have no connection to at all. and when u drink u get to know people even better. So here we go. My birthday was more or less a suprise at its own. I just invited everyone i knew from that short period of time and hope that 25% turn up. But it went better than i thought. 89% came and we got 100% pissed. The pics tell theyr own story. What u r not able to see is that i had the branding idear to play 80's music what made some leave and some turn the stereo up. Haha. Funny part about the night was that i was playing "i'm not in love" from 10cc. All of a sudden phil (my neighbor) turned to me and laught. I asked what is so funny about the song and he answerd "if u turn that song up they probably sing with it!". Turns out that 2 members of the groupe r direct neighbors i never met. so small is this world. So to the end of the party (4 o'clock in the morning) we ang the last song "dreadlock holiday" so loud that the stereo almoust didnt made it and collapsed on the couch. i sleped to 4 in the afternoon and still couldnt walk. i am so proud of myself. funny part is i had to catch the flight to the netherlands on 6. not funny cause they nearly didnt let me on the plane. drunk as a mule i came out the airport in the netherlands and my parents were waiting already, looked at me and just shook the head. "that is so you " was the last thing i rememberd befor i fell asleep in the car. what a start in the weekend.

Sunday I took a train out to the Surrey county to get a "tour" of the Surrey Hills. The day was not as warm and sunny as Saturday had been, but it was dry and nice regardless, probably best to go on a long ride in. I had not been on the bike for over a week b/c of all the dang rain, so I was a little nervous to go do the "hills".

I got picked up at the train station and was handed a map of the route. Gotta love it, my "guide" had GPSed out the route on the computer and added in all the pub and "tea" stops around the route. Seriously, riding in the UK is great.

So off we went and I was kind of laughing at the "hills" on the map, the highest point in England is at like 250 ft. And we were going to that point, the route in all went up and down to 250 ft like 5-6 times. The odd thing is, when it starts to go up, it is steep, not gradual at all, so while I laugh, it isn't easy. Pic below is of the tower a guy built to be on his land and the highest point in England. It was a "tea" stop.

The scenery and countryside was just beautiful, rolling hills, lots of folks mountain biking, green everywhere. Really nice ride and even challenging at times so I did get a work out.

Oh yeah, and I tried another English tradition for lunch. I ordered a "Plaughman" at the pub. Basically it is a traditional meal that an field worker would have had, basically gathering random stuff from around the kitchen. This one consisted of a lovely fresh and warm baguette, nice wedge of englishcheddar cheese, salad, chutneys and fruit. It was yummy.

I did get back to the city at a decent hour and met my Assusie friend Kathryn for dinner at Oxford St, so good day in all.
