This trip is supposed to happend in the month of May, but eveyone is busy. Until finally, we will be able to spend our "summer outing" during monsoon season in the Philippines =)

The initial plan is to go to Boracay Island. Everybody is excited, preparing for the trip. We all meet up in Iloilo City the day before, but weather doesn't seem to cooperate! Due to the rain it wouldn't be safe to go to Boracay, nobody is willing to do the 4-hour drive in the heavy rain and slippery road. Alternative plans were suggested until we decided to explore another island not far fro Iloilo City - Guimaras Island.

I have to tell the story from the beginning... As soon as I woke up, I opened the curtains, it wasn't raining (Thank God!)... As I was about to leave my room, I heard the no-so-good sound, I opened the curtains and saw the rain falling heavily =(. I meet with my group in the lobby, everyone has this sad look on their faces. It is impossible to push thru with the Guimaras trip because it isn't safe to go to the island. So we decided to go resort hopping in Iloilo City.

We had breakfast in this quite old resort - Punta Villa. We have to make the most of the situation, we were all smiles, despite the very unfortunate circumstances. After breakfast, the sky became clear.. Everybody was glad .. Next stop is to have lunch at Guimaras Island .. Yipee!!

We were supposed to rent a boat that will bring us to the resort , go island hopping and bring us back to the Iloilo port, but due to the events this morning, we cancelled it and decided to commute. We saved a lot of money in doing this. It isn't difficult to go to Alubihod beach, when we arrived in the municipality of Jordan after a few minutes boat ride from Iloilo, we rented a multicab that will bring us to the resort and pick us up at the end of the day. The ride too about 30 minutes. And the beach welcomed us. Though the sky isn't blue, it is quite cloudy but the clear waters and the sugary cream sands made up for it. We had a hearty meal and went island hopping.

There is so much more in this island, the last time I went here, I enjoyed Alubihod beach.. That was more than six years ago... LOL

Island hopping shouldn't be missed! There are different islands in Guimaras, of all sizes!! We stopped at Turtle Island, dipped in the water and enjoyed the rain =)
