We are planning on staying in the Casita Suite category at the El Dorado Royale. This room has an indoor jacuzzi and an outdoor roofless shower for some fun under the stars :) There is a hammock on the balcony or patio from what I understand and a bed on the balcony. The indoor jacuzzi has an oceanview. These rooms are not the cheapest but we are going in style. El Dorado has nothing but a la carte dining so I may gain ten pounds in a week. The pictures look gorgeous. I was wondering if anyone else has stayed in these type of accommodations. We didn't want to get to pricey so we are in the regular Casita suite. All inclusive vacations are the best. This link has some cool pictures of the resort. You have to scroll sideways to see other ones. El Dorado Royale pictures

"La ciudad de los palacios" means "the city of palaces" which is what Baron Alexander Von Humboldt nicknamed Mexico when he first arrived there. We got a couple of good history lessons during this trip! I've been to Mexico before but only to Playa Del Carmen and Cancun. The Mayan Riviera is beautiful. Beaches surrounded by nothing but miles and miles of wilderness and not a house in sight. I went snorkling for the first time here we saw stingrays, barracudas, eels, and not to mention the array of unique yellow, orange, and green coral, and the hundreds of tiny rainbow fish. The water was so shallow we had to be careful not to touch the coral with our bodies. The beach this time of year was full of ocean plants which bothers some people, but not me, it makes me feel more intune with nature. Our hotel room was at the incredible Paradissus resort. It truly was a real life paradise there. We also saw a group of mexican dancers perform a series of dances from different regions of Mexico, it was beautiful, and they wore traditional costumes which were brightly colored and happy and so different from anything I've ever seen.
