I don't much to the beach, but the most convenient for me is jimbaran, I find it quite nice, long and the less dirty. the part from the Four-Seasons to the Intercontinental is the best (for the moment, unfortunately many construction projects on the way) The beach used to be a nice spot for seafood bbq at night, but I guess the popularity spoiled it! There is still some good little resto on the beach and the fish still is good but the prices jumped dramatically!

First Place that I visited as soon as I landed in Bali was Garuda Wisnu Kencana Park, which is located in Bukit Unggasan – Jimbaran. It is called Garuda Wisnu Kencana because Vishnu (Hindus god) rides a gigantic Garuda bird.   A giant statue of Vishnu stands beautifully there. It is indeed a marvelous creation of art. Hindus believe that Vishnu is the god who gives protection for them.  The assembly of Garuda bird statue is on going and it will be huge! The rumor has it that the full enormous statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana is accomplished; it would be taller than the Liberty Statue in the U.S. 

When I was there, my ears were entertained by the Balinese songs that were played from traditional musical instrument, Gamelan. It was very soothing. Being there was a pleasure because you could enjoy the wonderful view of Bali from high place and the strong Balinese culture in this place.

In the late afternoon, jimbaran beach starts to live.... a whole lot of little sea food restaurants start to open their "beach". You can have a magnificent meal here, at the beach! CHoose your own fishes, prawns etc. and dine with music at the beach! A beautifull memory! (and not realy expensive)

note. a bomb was made to explode here by terrorists some years ago. Because a lot of tourists come and visit this place and to get more publicity. Take in mind... that this can happen anywere...
