travel tip! Never go to a honeymooners island on your own!!!

Well you can but expect to get funny looks!

OK so I booked a trip to the Maldives as an add on to my Sri Lanka trip as I had not been before and was offered a good deal as an add on to the end of my trip - a nice way to relax surely?!

It was nice to get to the Maldives after the hustling and bustle of Sri Lanka where every corner someone wants to sell you something - well its easy to identify the tourists I guess!

So - Maldives it was!

Arrived and got a lovely huge bungalow - right on the beach - fantastic location - small island - I can walk round the island in 15 mins - funny walking round and suddenly finding your bungalow again so quickly!

Hmm pretty quiet here - my own beach - just me and Mr Crab - where is everyone???

AHHHHHHHHHHH Honeymooners!    Why do they bother - they never come outside - they are all.... hmmm busy?!   Maybe there is something good on the hotel TV??

No problem here anyway I can enjoy the beach... watch the crab... all the fishing and snorkeling is all MINE!

 but ..... as a single mealtimes are .... fun!

So heres the picture! Júst me on my own at a table with 4 places right next to the buffet - so everyone has to walk past - hey where did all these people come from(!)  Guess the TV has finished - or maybe they are just refuelling! Why are people looking at me funny?!   Im just eating? Am I wearing some thing wrong? Do I have food on my blouse???    Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!    I am on my own - great! Now I understand why I am getting the puppy dog eyes ... ahhhh did your man leave already?? What a shame - hey I am on my own here - meal times are fun!

After the 2nd day I finally had enough and I found some other singles - guess they must have been on the other side when I was walking round!   So we made a singles table - the fun side of the island!  Laughs all the time !

Great few days break - make sure you dont go alone - or find some other singles - or wear a badge!!

Some of the things i wrote in my diary :)

"Got pushed in the sea off the jetty today by ahamad, burberry grabbed my belongings so they wont get wet,and ahamad struggled to push me in as i was fighting back! It was excellent!We all deffently had fun.It was a good last day,they treated me like they knew me for years and i was a local!"

" I have met the most amazing people on this holiday, there so kind,safe and realy informative! Me and ahamad sat on the jetty one night talking about his religion and the way muslims live.It was so interesting to learn about."

"Evernight when we went for dinner, as we walked into the restaurant,all the chef's and waiters smiled,most fo the people who worked on the Island was my friend or knew me,so it was great to walk into a room full of friendly faces! i realy felt like a local not a tourist,wish i was here longer than i am"
