<P>On the way back to Tel Aviv for our flight to Cairo, we went north through the Negev desert. Some areas were very desert like and some areas did have water where they were able to farm. </P>

<P>O<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">ur guide took us to the Nabatean city of Avdat.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>The Nabatean’s were the ones who built Petra and they were the desert merchants that brought the raw materials that perfumes were made from through the desert. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp;</SPAN>They were very progressive with navigating the desert and preserving water.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp;</SPAN>Next we went to a crater and learned about the geology of the Negev desert.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Finally we saw David Ben Gurion’s desert home and burial monument.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>He was the first President of Israel.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>He believed that the future of Israel with developing the Negev desert and set an example himself.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Our final destination was Tel Aviv where we went to the old quarter and saw a part of the city that was very European and full of the arts. </SPAN>We then went to the <A href="http://mosaic.lk.net/g-ramon.html" target=_self>Ramon Crater</A> where you can actually see the beginning of earth's geology. It was truly breathtaking.</P></p>

<P>There are not enough words in which i can express how I feel about the Israeli desert. After being in more than 30 countries in the world, seeing all kinds of different views, I can definetly say that this is the best view in the world! (ofcourse all the people who grew up in green view areas, such as switzerland will not agree with me)</P>
<P>These are some photos I took on a trip to a place called Ein-Akev which is in the north part of the Negev, sort of south Jehuda Desert.</P>
