A recently established (1994) DOC whose production area is based among the towns of the wine road. The main wine is the Monteregio di Massa Marittima Rosso obtained with Sangiovese (80 %) and other black grapes; also available as a Novello or a Riserva (aged for two years). A Rosato is also produced using the same grapes. The Monteregio di Massa Marittima Bianco is obtained by using tuscan Trebbiano, Vermentino, Malvasia, Malvasia di Candia and Ansonica, as well as small amount of other white grapes. The Vermentino is produced by using 90% Vermentino and other white grapes, This DOC also includes a Vin Santo and a Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice.
To promote this products there is a wine road in our territory, the "Monteregio di Massa Marittima" Wine Route wind sits way through the reclaimed land of the Colline Metallifere" (metalliferous hills) of High Maremma in the Grosseto district. The tourist itinerary includes the cellars of the wine and grape-producing businesses, working farm holiday businesses, wine shops, restaurants, local product producers and quality art and craft shops. The traveller on the Wine Route will find himself in a natural environment where Tuscany's characteristic traits meel with the strong Maremman personality. All the centres along the Route are historically rich and the three mini-routes lead to the discovery of numerous environmental, artistic and historic treasures.
We got drunk with this many many times...lol!!

Calici di Stelle(Stars glasses)is a big party between streets of historical centre and wine cellars in town, dedicated to Monteregio Doc(a red wine)and other soils products(oil, bread, other type of wine, cheese, honey, pork things etc).It is every year in august, the 10(S.lorenzo night...night of falling stars). We have to buy only a glass(it costs about 10 euros),and we can drink free all night long,in every stand! It will be also some concerts,of itinerant orchestra often. It's an amazing night, all drunk!!Sometimes there is problem with brawls or thieft, and also with some german people that finish all the wine!!!ahahaha
Obviously, like every respected S.Lorenzo night ,there are place where silence and tranquillity reign,to stay with nose looking the sky for a dream falling star, near Cassero Senese and in the green of town walls. For drunk people are the rehab place, before parents see you!!

In massa marittima's summer there is a night where the attraction of the medieval village meet irish culture and traditions, between beer river, fairy, elfs and dance...
It's a funny event,particular...
There is a celtic irish market, with elfs, earrings(every year i do a supply, mom hate me!!),some music events with folk irish band and dancers group, there was an year also a festival of folk violins coming from all over the Italy.
The most drunk beers in this night are Tennent's e Caffrey's,and a bar give also sweet and other irish things to eat.The entrance is free, from 18.
Well, what else i can say..I knoe that isn't a true irish night..but nevermind, there's beer, there are earrings and good music, the place is suggestive and the company very good...much assured fun!!!!
