We end up getting to Hillsville around 10pm the night before and set up the tent. We get up at 7 am because it's light and it's in our face, and it's just up there leaning. I get up and I gotta pee. Now for anyone else it's like whatever I gotta go, there's some woods... especially for guys. I have never peed outside and I think at one point I vowed to never pee outside... but times changed and I gotta go... so I go to the back of the house and I'm still trying to figure out the mechanics. I was like to I just take everything off??? I figured it out. and YAY I didn't, I say again DID NOT pee on myself. I was so excited I was yelled up to John and Paul, I just peed outside, realized about 4 seconds into yelling loudly that I was standing in my our urine. Luckily I had shoes on and the soil had soaked it up... still it was icky.

We get down to the market we're looking for somewhere to park, now last year the flea market was subpar. there were about 12 different booths which sucks because the flea market is huge and it just had the same repeating booths so no one really made any money. And parking was $10. This year because the economy is in the toilet parking was cheap and the pickins' were good. We got good quaility knives for $3, 400 thread count sheets for $15, which are normally around Raleigh about $60 at walmart, and a couple movies. The fair food was as good and as expensive as ever, and I was disappointed to see that the fried food craze is over... but there was deep fried corn on the cob, I didn't get to try it though. There's one booth every year that I have to visit. Deb's desserts. So tasty. So wonderful. I was even going to get her to make my wedding cake, and still wish I had gone through with it. She makes the most moist cake I've ever tasted. It's warm with ice cream and chocolate syrup, and seeing as how I'm a chocolate lover from way back I get that every year. John usually switches it up between the blondie or the strawberry shortcake. She also makes a banana split but there's no cake in it so why bother. I love it because every year she remembers me and asks how I'm doing. Out of probably 5,000 people she remembers me.

It's a wonderful place, Hillsville. Very quaint. If you ever pass thorough or are a flea market fiend like me, I highly recommend planning a trip to Hillsville, VA Labor Day weekend.
