After hanging out last night at Eli's, it was time to head into Burlington to see my other cousin Aurina (Eli's sister). Since it was sunny and beautiful out (although slightly too windy for my liking), I put my bike rack on the car and loaded my bike and Eli's on there. Around two hours after we had planned to leave to go to brunch with Auri, Eli, Tamara and I headed off to Burlington. Eli took us on a back route that brought us up the side of a mountain with a beautiful view. I may or may not have passed the parking area on the side of the road...What I will say is that I ended up having to drive in reverse up the hill to get back to it...

Either way, I got some nice pictures out of it...

After the warning phone call I received from one of my cousins, I was expecting to drive into Vermont and be surrounded by piles of snow. That wasn't the case...

The ride from Syracuse, NY to Ferrisburgh, VT (where one of my cousins lives) started off very snowy, then changed to some hail, maybe a little sleet and then it was just gone. No precipitation whatsoever. I figured that maybe it would pick up again as I drove through the Adirondacks...nope. Maybe when I got closer to Lake Champlain? Nope. Hmmm...what about when I crossed the bridge over Lake Champlain? Nope...not then either. OK, it'll be snowing when I head north towards Burlington. Yeah, not the case there either. In fact, when I got to Ferrisburgh, there wasn't even a sign that there had been a decent amount of snow. The roads were completely dry and there were no white piles anywhere.

Where was it snowing? Apparently, it was snowing in Burlington, just 20 minutes north of Ferrisburgh. My cousin, Eli, who I was meeting up with in Ferrisburgh had gone to pick up a friend, Tamara, at around 6:15pm...I got to Ferrisburgh at around 6:40pm. I gave him a call, he said he should be back within the next 1/2 hour-45 minutes. Apparently there was a blizzard going on up north. He got back to Ferrisburgh around 8:30pm. Kind of insane...but anyway, in the meantime, I hung out in my car, listening to music, at a Mobile station on the corner of one of the streets that leads to his house. At one point, I went in to use the bathroom and found a recycling toilet...very interesting. Who knew they made those?
