Before heading for DFW I stopped to meet my boss for breakfast. He suggested we meet at Mimi's in Allen. I got there and ordered coffee. No boss. 10 minutes later, no boss so I send and email. (We all carry handhelds and check them constantly) He emails back and says he's forgotten. So I eat some bad oatmeal and bolt. My review of Mimis won't be much. Although I did meet someone here in Austin who swears it's their favorite Breakfast place in DFW. Let's hope he doesn't read TravBuddy!

Up front I should state that I don't like many restaurant chains. Not a fan of IHOP, Denny's, etc.

The people at Mimi's were great. Very friendly and attentive.

The food was average. I spent $10 on coffee, oatmeal and fruit. $10 is not a lot in many places but you can eat a lot less expensively in and around DFW for breakfast.

Let me bottom line it for you: If you are jammed up and need to eat somewhere quickly, Mimi's will do. If you are "planning" your trip and want a memorable breakfast...I'd pass.
