After a couple hours on the road we arrived at our hotel.  We decided to stay at the Comfort Inn in Middletown, just outside of Newport.  The rates here were cheaper than staying in Newport, which was less than 10 minutes down the road.  We didn't need anything fancy, we wouldn't be spending much time in the hotel anyway!    They had a nice pool right  off the lobby, but being November, none of us thought to bring swimsuits.  There were a couple of restaurants across the street, one of them on the fancy side, and another that was more like a diner. We would try them both out before the weekend was over.  We checked in to our rooms, relaxed a little bit, then got dressed and ready to go into town!
