After a vibrant and rather glitzy afternoon at State College--Lewistown felt like a shabby, old ghost town... I wandered around a bit until a couple of folks sitting out in front of their house called me over and asked why I was carrying a guitar around.  I offered to play a couple of songs for them in exchange for a glass of ice tea and a few insights into life in Lewistown... They confirmed that, yes, Lewistown is a very depressed, slowly dying city... They also recommended that I come perform at their annual "Goose Festival" (I guess it's a big thing in Lewistown).  They seemed to really like my songs and insisted that I sing my song "Vacuum" several times.

Felt great to have an audience again.

    I think I am starting a traditon. For the past two years I have spent my birthday in places I have never been. Last year it was in Bawawani Tanzania, and this year I spent it in Lewistown, PA. I really love traveling. Spending my birthday some where I have never been before is a lot of fun. I hope to continue this tradition next year!!!
