This is the place of the gathering when the world comes to fight Israel, most people say the “Battle of Armageddon” but if you read the Bible you will see they gather here and the battle takes place at Jerusalem.   Many ruins of history here too!

The next day, we took a bus from Tiberius to a bus stop near the site known as Tel Megiddo.  Tel Megiddo, or Megiddo hill, is another important site in the bible, and is referenced many times.  When we arrived at the site, we were blown away by the size of the ruins on the site.  During the time of King Soloman, Megiddo was a very happening town with an impressive water system.  While none of the buildings are left standing, using your imagination and the layout of the ruins, it was not hard for us to understand the magnitude of what the city once was.  We even took a walk through the tunnel used to collect water when the city was in it's prime.

Tel Megiddo is probably best known today for the references to it in Revelation, the final chapter of the bible.  It is on this site, at some point in the future, where the final battle between good and evil will take place.  This is the site of Armageddon.
