Onze eindbestemming ging n...

For us deprived Filipinos, it’s a rare opportunity to catch any one of our favorite bands live in concert since we’re often ignored when they’re off touring Southeast Asia. How the organizers of the Bangkok 100 Rock Festival pulled off cramming seven international bands to play over one February weekend was an amazing feat. Except for Belgian outfit dEUS, the bill practically screamed British Invasion. And I don’t mean the scraps of the current industry they decided to send off to ent...

We had the morning free so Jade and I hit the Chatuchak Market for some shopping. As anyone who's been to Thailand knows, the Thais are a lovely bunch of skinny, happy, smiley, friendly people. If only their English were a wee bit more polished. It really was getting frustrating for both Jade and I, especially whenever we'd hop into a cab. Their language is tonal, and they use the same fords for say "yes" and "no" and the only way to distinguish their meaning is through their intonation. So w...

This morning Kevin and I left at around 9am for a drive up to Las Vegas to watch the FIBA America Basketball tournament. The weather here at home was going to be a scorching 105 degrees and was probably going to be the same up in Vegas. I still had my little rental car from the recent car accident that I was in so I figured that I would put some miles on this car. Once we passed Barstow, my rental car was struck by a flying piece of tire tread that slammed into my hood. It scared the hell out...

 travel blog from Fiji

We stayed for 4 days is a beautiful resort; The Pearl at Pacific Harbour. The only problem was that the owner didn't like Fijians, only the fijian dollar! So everything in the resort was more 'australian' than fijian. When I go to another country, i like to experience the culture; from food to music. But not even the music was not allowed inside the resort. Only english songs. There was 1 night when a Fijian band played, the boss was there so they had to play english songs. I reque...

Today was Minh’s last day in town. He had to be at the
airport at 8:30pm, so better start the day early. I managed to reorganize my
schedule, so I’d be able to meet him before noon and I succeeded, hehe. I met
Minh at 11am. Our plan was going to downtown. He has already been there, but
just at night and driven by a bus, so he couldn’t take as many pictures as he
would have liked to. So, it was time to fix it, hehe. We took a cab and drove
to Plaza de Armas “Main Square”.I shou...

We woke up this morning and we were docked in St. Maarten which is an island where one half belongs to the Dutch and the other half belongs to the French. Therefore, the currency used here is the Euro. Depending on which side you are on, the island is spelled differently. Sint Maarten on the Dutch side and Saint Martin on the French side. We docked in the town of Phillipsburg which is on the Dutch side. The first thing we noticed this morning was that there was another cruise ship docked alon...

Small airport called Faleolo, early in the morning and already very humid! Staying with my partner's relatives in apia. Lovely people. Toilet and shower (only cold water which is ok because it's too hot anyway) outside the house. They bought toilet paper especially for me; they use anything else. I've seen some newspapers lying around. The "kitchen" too. You cook because you have to eat but it's not a cosy "kitchen" where you wanna try out some 'haute cuisine'. People are pretty po...

I'd say this is a bohemian setting, actually with three locals in Lima, 2 of them in Miraflores (one in the mall Larcomar and the other one in front of the Central Park). They serve drinks, good coffee, sandwiches and deserts and is a place to be seen in Lima. They have happy hour and a special combination for Tea Time: 1 Pisco Sour + appetizer or sandwich + dessert + cappuccino. A good deal!!! Also their Pisco Sour is not bitter, actually a bit sweet, yummy!!!
The Larcomar's Cafe Cafe has...

Driving through Minnesota, we saw hundreds and hundred of wind mills used to generate power.
A nice alternative to generating power, however, I thought they were an eyesore; Terry liked them.
The indoor water park at the Holiday Inn Express in Brandon, South Dakota was a lot of fun! Check out the videos! :)
