The Gasthof is a little off the beaten path but it is a wonderful hidden gem in Minneapolis. The large restaurant is decorated to look like a restaurant in Germany and the menu has many traditional German foods (with the menu items in German and descriptions in English).
When I arrived, Michael (moon_over_michael) was already seated and a man in lederhosen was playing the accordian and wandering from table to table. He had ordered an appetizer (sausage platter) and there was a loaf of ...

Who said the desert is without its charms? Well having lived in this small yet beautiful countryside town, I can tell you that Sonoita is indeed a beautiful place to visit.
Sonoita is a very small town in Arizona, located at the crossroads of US Highways 82 and 83 if you as much as blink you will go right passed it, and I mean it literally. But it is a beautiful countryside elevated at close to 500ft and surrounded by undulating grassy hills. The grasslands are popularly referred to as Ciene...

M's Pub is a tiny restaurant in Omaha's Old Market. We went on a Wednesday evening and it was packed. I had considered getting reservations, but...Wednesday in Omaha...this isn't usually necessary. We were lucky enough to score a table on the patio. We shared a bottle of wine (ladies), while the guys ordered beer.
The menu is sooo big! We decided to share a shrimp appetizer. We all ordered "Pub" fare. It was great. Next time I will have to order off of their specials.
The only th...

Today is our first full day here! I woke up around 8:00am and went down stairs where I found a couple other people up and coffee already made. Now I'm not much of a coffee drinker, mostly because I get pretty hyper from it, but I decided to have a cup this moring. Lena asked if I was really having coffee, and when I said yes, she just rolled her eys and said with a laugh "Oh god, watch out for Mark, he's having coffee!"
By 8:30 am, most everyone else in the house was up and pulling stuf...

An event that made me leave there wanting more! JOYCE MEYERS live in Detroit---Yes this Palace in Auburn Hills was incrediibly huge and an extra workout on the feet, lol...The parking fee was $10.00, expected if you ask me. If you have not been you will find that they offer special seating for the hearing impaired, and hanicapped. The food, soft drinks, and memoribilia is pricey as usual but worth it for the PALACE EXPIERENCE, so bring your dollars or just bring your energetic self to the Hom...

Set in an old warehuse building, Upstream Brewery is an Omaha favorite. It is a combination of upscale bar food and Omaha Steaks. They have an extensive wine list and brew their own beer. Another touch they add are their pizzas. The pizza toppings are definitely trendy. My personal favorite is the Thai Chicken Salad. Everyone has their favorite!
If you are in Omaha on Wednesday nights, Upstream features a pizza and pint night upstairs. Pints for $3 and Pizzas for $7. Try the Raspbe...

This hotel just seemed off to me but I think the reason for this was lack of tv accessibility, no friendly greeting, lack of informative knowledge from staff. We checked in to find the manager giving us an room on the 3rd floor without asking if we had an preferred location to stay. That just didn't sit right with me. I hope that this hotel will grow to an better standard than what I am seeing now. Please hear me out and enjoy your stay at an HYATT somewhere, I know that is better! I RECOMMEN...

Welcome to our blog. The plan is to travel round the world in eight months.
We'll be starting from New York and seeing some more of North America before continuing to Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand before finishing in Cambodia and coming home for Christmas.
We'll do our best to keep it as up-to-date as possible as we go.
Bye for now!

This is UNACCEPTABLE! We had all of 30 minutes to view the entire area atop the mountain - the building/restaurant, and the surrounding area. Forget getting a snack, forget sitting down, forget taking it all in, forget taking a lot of pictures.
Then we were herded back down the elevator in a rush to spend all of 50 minutes in Berchtesgaden. This is unacceptable, and while I recommend seeing Eagles Nest, I do NOT recommend using Panorama Tours to do so!!!

“I feel like a greaseball,” Mark complained as he lathered the thick, white goo over equally pale legs protruding from his kahki shorts. I observed this unusual activity through squinty eyes not yet accustomed to the early morning light.
“So, you’re putting on some sunscreen,” I volunteered, noting that living in the Arizona desert for the past six years had not yet prompted a similar action. He handed over the tube and I smeared a similar amount of ...

We checked out the Castle, the Old Town, ate some food, and even took in a movie, 'Hancock' (it was ok) :) I stopped by a souvenir shop and saw this artistic, funny clay statue and wanted to buy it as a souvenir... STORE CLOSED CRAP :( Martin told me he will buy it for me and I will pick it up later...
