Most Memorable Travel Experience
The beginning like most beginnings wasn't an auspicious one - harassed by immigration officers in Helsinki, luggage got misplaced, going around in circles trying to find the rented apartment's street until we accidentally stumbled upon it. Jet lagged and bone tired we went to sleep only to wake up in the morning and realize that we had no change of clothes for the day. Luckily we discovered a street market behind our place and bought the essentials and then off we trotted, in our mismatched ensemble, to explore the city of legends - Rome.

Our first stop was the Trevi Fountain and at first I was not very impressed maybe because there were too many people there plus I was exhausted since the weather had been extremely hot and we had walked for miles. In fact I recall semi-hallucinating that I was Oliver Twist on my way to London.

It was only after a few minutes of admiring the Trevi Fountain that I fully realized how monumentally huge and beautiful it is. After doing the usual photos and coin tossing thing, I wandered around looking for water and discovered an uncrowded water fountain and made a bee line for it. The water was heavenly and I almost had a bath standing there before common sense and public decency laws stopped me from venturing further :). I sat down in a cozy corner next to it and read my book for a couple of minutes and would have loved to spend the whole day there doing just that but then my friends dragged me off to have gilatos. After this every other place we went to in Rome was as charming and amazing as this one.

Still - sitting in my corner hidden from the world, by the rocks, reading my book and feeling content and happy - that would have to be one of my favourite moments of the trip.
