getting sideswiped by a 8 foot six gill shark on a night dive in the puget sound while setting up for a photo of some strange fish. scared the bejeebees out of me and burnt a new wrinkle in my brain with the image of what looked like a great white that night

i pretty much spend my life traveling. i bounce around the u.s. (mostly the west coast) traveling to clients for my job as a software consultant for ibm, and i usually spend my vacations diving with my underwater camera anywhere i've heard is amazing, like the philippines or caverns of mexico, or volunteering for earthwatch expeditions.

Shamrock, Texas, USA -› -› …
i recently found this really funny documentary called Growin' A Beard about the annual Shamrock, Tx St. Patrick's Day Donegal beard contest that has inspired me to start planning a road trip down to the texas panhandle to display my fine hirsute leprechaun-like self.
about the only rule to the contest is that you have to shave on jan 1 and show up in shamrock, texas on st. patty's day with a Donegal beard.
so this is my beard growth progression.....
