Delicious food and wine at an affordable price in the hearth of Cortona Aug 26, 2009
the restaurant is located in a beautiful square on the back of the city hall and faces the magnificent "Signorelli Theatre". Generally I wouldn't recommend any place with such a central position in such a touristy area but this is an exception. Not only the food is great with loads of Tuscan specialities served (such as the "ribollita" soup and the "pici" which is a sort of thick noodle made in this part of Tuscany) but they also have an incredible selection of wines.
Moreover the restaurant is hosted in the former cellar of a palace built in the XIIth century with a low ceiling and brick vaults. A special mention goes to the choco chake served which is sugar and dairy free.......amazing!
