The Netherlands is a small constitutional monarchy in West Europe which is home to over 16 million people.
Although the North Sea endangers 1/2 of the landmass the Dutch have managed to make this risk profitable. The port of Rotterdam, the second biggest port of the world, is very important for the Netherlands\\\' economy. The Netherlands are also known for their tolerance (towards homosexuals, drugs and minorities), their folklore (tulips, mills and wooden shoes) and their painters (Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Vermeer). The Netherlands is divided in 12 different provinces and all of them have some own local traditions and customs. The currency used in the Netherlands is the euro. Amsterdam, its capital city, is famous for its old center with canals, redlight district and many coffee shops. Remember that most dutch people do not use (soft)drugs and that the coffeeshops are mostly visited by attracted tourists. The seat of government is Den Haag, officially 's-Gravenhage or The Hague in English. Holland’s Royal City has a rich history and tradition. It never fails to impress visitors with its elegant atmosphere, broad tree lined avenues, boutiques, castles and of course the Dutch Parliament. When visiting the Netherlands, remember that there\\\'s more than just Amsterdam! Modern Rotterdam (port, architecture), historical Utrecht, the skilful Delta works and the beautiful countrysides of the Northern and Eastern parts are also very worth a visit.

Amsterdam, Netherlands -› -› ...
After getting our stuff out of the room Mandy and I were ready to go back home.
Downstairs we ran into Ante and Jeff wich was great so we could say goodbye properly then. They still had another day in Amsterdam left so that was nice! On the way back home people were actually staring at me since I kinda looked like a homeless person (and felt like one also) After travelling for 2,5 hours I was finally back in Uden. I told my dad to pick me up from the busstation. When he saw me he just laughe...

So it's 5:30 in the afternoon right now and I just came home 2 hours ago from a long train ride from Amsterdam. I wasn't really going to blog about the meet-up now since I have tons more of blogs lined up to do and it's going to take me until summer to finish them all up but I just couldn't resist the temptation of reliving all the crazy memories I had yesterday. I should actually be sleeping right now (I bet Lauro is) but I'm just glad that I had two mad hours of sleep or I'm proba...

At the end
of last summer (2007), I bought a digital camera. Since then, I published an
autumn blog and a winter blog. Fortunately, time keeps moving forward and
winter changes into spring. In fact, the meteorological spring started March 1.
Therefore, this blog is a celebration to spring.
Spring is a
time of hope, promise and expectation. A time of rebirth, calf-love and youth.
The flowers and the trees show signs of things to come: the careful forming of
buds, the first ...
