Motel 168 in Shanghai,China Mar 02, 2008
The Hotel is not in the centre of all the busling action but very good reachable by bus(2rmb)or by taxi about 10/15 rmb.
The motel start it prices from 168rmb which is about 19 euro.
The aminaties inside the room are good as it is very clean as well.
The Staff speak not so good English but check in and ask question where and how to gett somewhere is no problem.
Also they have a business card with the hotel information so you can give to taxi driver and he bring you back to the Motel.

The television goth mostly Chinese channels but a Japanese and Bbc news channels it is oke.
The English programs goth Chinese subtitels.

The very possitive about is that you can make the room very warm in adition too the colder rooms of other low budget hotels.
If you prefer to wear only underwear or summer cloths this room is recommended in winter time.

The Shower has a hand shower and a big head for the rain shower(see picture)as i cannot explain clearly, sorry.
There is a conviniance store across the street for all necassary things and other side goth a small super market.

The restaurant next to the Hotel named the Sheep is also very delicious it have mongolian sheep dishes and other Chinese dish with Chinese and English menu card.

Although the location is not the best spot i feel very comfortable here.
You can book the hotel by internet at www.motel168.com and also at other sites like Shanghaihotels.com and choose English.
Make a booking at the counter is also no problem.
If it is your last stop before go to Pudong airport then it take about 1 hour to gett there and to Hongqai domestic airport about 45 minutes.
Have a good stay.

mfmcp1982 says: This is not a hostel in the strictest sense of the name. It used to be a grand hotel - Charlie Chaplin and Einstein stayed here - and it still is, but it seems like the staff rooms or larger rooms have been converted into dorms. I chose to stay in a 5 bed girls only room because I was on my own, but...
