Jbo is right, although it has to be saidd that bargains are out there. When I moved in I had a place in Wembley then a place in Holloway, both non-sharing rooms and both less than £400 a month with 1 month deposit. I saved about £25 a week by cycling and shopped carefully.

I recommend food shopping in local markets and going through a site like gumtree dot com for both a place to stay and any other large purchase.

Good luck.
