my friend peter took me to a bar/resto (but its more of a bar than a restaurant but you can have both) somewhere in winter of 2005. he said its one of the most well-known place in düsseldorf, an institution. it was an old gas station in its heyday and a small part of it was converted to a bar/resto.

when i first entered the bar/resto i felt self-conscioused because of the stylish people there, that would look at every people that goes in and that time my german was damn BAD (laughs). peter and me were talking english, and it was a good start, the waiter there was very friendly with me, though he was struggling with his english, he made me feel welcome. and that was history - because i frequent minol if i have freetime or just a couple of drinks in the night and also to eat, i also watched the world cup semi-finals there between germany and italy, they set up a giant screen outside and inside was beamer - unfortunately germany lost, but it was fun and a lot of spirits also the waitresses dressed as soccer players :D. it also has wlan if you happen to bring your computer with you.

they have every drinks possible from red wine to rhum liquor to chardonnay to rosé to champagne to cold drinks to coffees and plain water. and the food they serve is heavenly - they have appetizers like springrolls (made differently) - satay chicken in sticks - and salads like persian salad, and main dishes like chicken or turkey thai curry with basmathi rice, also chinese fried noodles made entirely different by the cook and the menus differ from day to day, it is declared outside of the resto (but beware it takes its time for the food to be served because there's only one cook in the kitchen) prices ranges from uhhh.. 3-6 euros for appetizers and 8-15 euros for main dishes. drinks from 2-10 euros.

the ambiance is really nice, 60's designed interior, it is very small and crowded specially in winter because the outside veranda is closed, they play bossanova and lounge music in the afternoons and in fridays and weekends - deep house music.
