Much like my taste in music, I'll read almost anything. There's always a Lonely Planet or DK Guide, plus general travel writing like Bill Bryson & Michael Palin, and Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's Long Way Round. Also love autobiographies, Biographies, sociological/ cultural stuff, plus Hotel Babylon, Air Babylon!
Music you might find me listening to while waiting for my plane

Living with a local family while teaching in China, plus the Great Wall of China & the Terracotta Warriors, and also seeing a goat slaughtered in the street at a restaurant, scuba diving with sharks in the Maldives, bungy jumping in Australia, Bridge over the River Kwai in Thailand, dune driving in Dubai, meeting orangutans in Malaysia, helicopter flight around New York City, White Water Rafting on the Tully River in Australia.

** Hi guys, sorry I've not been online for so long, I've been in hospital having thyroid surgery, and that combined with post-op complications means I've been out of action a while - I'll be back soon! Morven, xx**

I really do need to win the lottery so I can just pack my bags and travel as much as I want!
In the meantime I suppose I'll stick it out working as a radio news reader/ reporter in Scotland, where I was born & brought up! Oh year, that and dreaming about all the places I HAVE to see!

Mark and I spent 2 weeks in Thailand in July 2008 - 4 nights/ 3 days in the craziness of Bangkok, and 9 nights at the beach in Hua Hin to relax and get some sun. This is my fifth time in Thailand - 4th in Bangkok, and 2nd in Hua Hin, but I love the country and the people, so it's hard to stay away! A highly recommended vacation spot.

Glasgow, Scotland, UK -› Amsterdam, Netherlands -› ...
As a special assignment for work (I'm a radio news reporter) I got to spend a few days with the 1st Battalion, the Scots Guards at their barracks near Münster in Germany. While I was there the last company of troops came home from deployment in Iraq, and I got to speak to the soldiers and their families about what it was like in Iraq and Afghanistan, and what it was like for the families to be left behind.
It was an amazing trip.
