madrid barajas international airport terminal 4 Jul 03, 2008
madrid barajas international airport has 4 terminals. when i went to spain, i used spain's national flag carrier which was iberia airlines. iberia airlines is seviced only in the fairly newly built terminal 4 of barajas airport.
in my honest opinion, madrid barajas terminal 4 is the most beautiful airport i had been to, even topping my favorite airport which is düsseldorf international airport. it has a very huge space. in terms of architectural design, its just a big square, but the architects made it more creative by adding dimensions inside. considering spain, barajas terminal 4 is very very clean. there are walking escalators to help ease the heavy loads and burdens of passengers, huge number of toilets and powdery rooms, lots of waiting chairs, enough restaurants and fastfoods for small hunger, scattered free internet, a direct line to the subway at the arrival area, a very nice and affrodable cafe at the arrival area, a tourist info at the arrival area and a priority in my list - smoking areas every 50 meters inside the airport! even in the waiting area for baggages they provided smoking areas! considering in europa, they are banning smoking in airports. i mean what more can you ask for, for an international airport? thats why it won a prize when it was built in 2006. the bestest offer from madrid barajas international airport, is that - at the arrival area, they couldnt care less if you sleep inside the airport, or hang around the airport if youre late arriving and waiting for the subway which opens at 6:30 am. me and my friends hang-out just outside the gates of the arrival area, put on loudspeakers from the ipods and chilled out. nobody reprimanded us even if we were at 3-4 am noisy and laughing our hearts out. it was defnitely the best airport i had ever used. Part of the the greatest story about being free. travel blog |
